Victorian House Comps

20 comps so far. Let me know if you guys like any of them. If not I'll do more. Be very picky please. Thanks. While I wait for your response I'll sketch these in pencils in the artist's style and see how it goes.

  1. I really like these! For some reason, I like 16 best. :)

  2. I'm not sure, they seem like they are a little too fancy and new looking. Maybe there are too many rooms? They kinda look like castles or mansions. I always imagined it maybe looking more tall than wide, less uniform, more randomness to give them an older feel. I dunno if that makes sense haha

  3. I also imagined it tall, and narrow - could be viewed as cozy and quirky by Jack, and opressive and cramped by Don. Maybe take a walk around Naglee park or Japan town to get some more reference?

  4. Alright, I'll try those suggestions on. When I designed it, I was looking at the Victorian Houses https://www.google.com/search?q=victorian+houses&aq=f&sugexp=chrome,mod%3D16&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=D-m3UI2zBKWIiALHroGoDw&biw=961&bih=592&sei=Eem3UKiLOYi1iwLZjYH4Dw and most of them look like they are small castles but I'm guessing you guys want me to do something like this http://tabletmonkey.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2011-11-08T21:55:00-08:00&max-results=20 but more of the combination of the tablet monkey guy's shape design with the victorian houses. I'll try to get more comps out by the end of the night and see what will happen.

  5. I don't see any houses in the second link. I think we should try to focus on the 3 artists we chose for now so tomorrow things will look cohesive. The houses in the Google search look a lot like plantation style houses more common in the south. I was assuming the house would be in a downtown area of Pennsylvania so it would be more tall and narrow. Maybe specify the search to Pennsylvania to see what it might look like.
